This initiative is sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The focus lies on fostering growth and development in the cluster for the artisans of Carpet and Floor Covering craft at Kullu, Himachal Pradesh ensuring enhanced livelihoods and preservation of traditional craftsmanship.

The artisans working under the ADOPTED CLUSTER are the backbone of this traditional craft, this initiative aims to preserve and promote the rich heritage of carpet weaving in Anni. The artisans, many of whom have inherited the craft from their ancestors, are skilled in various aspects of carpet making, from design creation to the final weaving.
These artisans not only create beautiful carpets but also contribute to the local economy by keeping this traditional craft alive. The ADOPTED CLUSTER provides them with the necessary Development Scheme, training, and support to enhance their skills and market their products effectively. This support has enabled the artisans to reach a broader audience, thereby ensuring the sustainability of their craft.
